Self Portrait as Ndaya Swan

This painting, created on a marble square, is a self-portrait titled "Self-Portrait as Ndaya Swan." It embodies a folk tale rendition of myself, reflecting my past experiences as a performer in dance, presenting, and acting. By merging my likeness with that of a swan, I symbolise grace, transformation, and the dynamic nature of performance.

A fairy with wings in the colours of the Congolese flag is depicted, adding a layer of cultural significance. Behind, the symbol for the Celtic harvest moon connects to themes of renewal and abundance. The intricate, mythical elements within the composition highlight the storytelling aspect of my artistic expression, celebrating the journey and evolution of my creative identity.
